Lankan hopes high in Davis Cup pre-qualifiers

Host Sri Lanka will have the home advantage when they battle against visiting opponents as the Junior Davis Cup Asia/Oceania pre-qualifiers commence at the Sri Lanka Tennis Association courts today. The tournament will conclude on March 10.

Sri Lanka will field a strong team including non-playing captain Sudhantha Zoysa, Nelaka Dissanayake, Chathurya Nilaweera, Thehan Wijemanne and Dhilvan Herath.

Altogether 13 regional teams are vying for honours in the tournament including Bahrain, Bangladesh, Cambodia, Lebanon, Malaysia, Oman, Pacific Oceania, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, Sryia and host Sri Lanka.

Meanwhile the Junior Fed Cup Asia/Oceania pre-qualifiers will also commence today with 10 regional nations participating at the SLTA courts.
