India's Subash Paramasivam and Poland's Jasza Szajrych cruised to boys' doubles final of the ongoing ITF Junior Circuit Week III when they beat their Chinese opponents Qiulin Wang and Baoluo Zheng 5/7, 6/2, 10-8 in the semifinals worked off at the Sri Lanka Tennis Association clay courts yesterday.
Subash and Jasza will take on Chinese Taipei pair Nan Hsun Lin and Kai Shiang Yang in the final who went on to defeat Thailand's Tanapatt Nirundorn and India's Sandeep VM in easy straight sets 6/2, 6/0 when they battled in yesterday's second boys' doubles semifinal.
The girls' doubles event saw top seed Chinese Taipei pair Yu Hua Cheng and Chia Yi Tsao booking their final berth when they overcame Japanese duo Yuna Kadowaki and Honoka Umeda in semifinals 6/2, 6/0. The other girls' doubles semi final between Mei Hasegawa (Japan) partnered by China's Yijia Jiao and second seed Yu Chin Tsai (Chinese Taipei) paired by India's Jessica Christa will be played today morning at the SLTA courts.
Tinothy Phung (USA) beat Baoluo Zheng (China) 6/1, 6/4 while Jasza Szajrych (Poland) defeated Yu Shiang Huang (Taipei) 6/3, 7/6(1) in the boys' singles quarters. The remaining two quarterfinals saw Tanapatt Nirundorn (Thailand) beating Chan I WU (Taipei) 6/3, 4-3 Ret. and Ishan Sethi (India) edging out his teammate Anurag Agarwal 7/6(8), 6/1.
Top seed Yu Chin Tsai (Taipei) won the girls' singles quarterfinal battle against Yijia Jiao (China) 6/3, 6/1 while Chia Yi Tsao (Taipei) overcame Malvika Shukla (India) 6/2, 4/6, 6/1. Japan's Mei Hasegawa entered the semis when she defeated Yu Hua Cheng (Taipei) 7/6(3), 6/2. Yuna Kadowaki (Japan) had the better of India's Jessica Christa 3/6, 6/2, 6/4 in the remaining singles quarter final.
