Taniya wins 2017 NDB Private Wealth Junior Masters Challenge Trophy

Taniya Minel Balasuriya beat out the pack to emerge the overall winner of the NDB Private Wealth Junior Masters Golf Challenge Trophy at the Royal Colombo Golf Club recently. Expert financial planner NDB Wealth conducted the third edition of the tournament paving a platform to showcase young golfing talent of the country.

While Taniya bagged the Gold category (15 to 17 years) and overall titles, Levon Niyarepola emerged the Silver category (12 to 14 years) winner. Nirekh Tejwani won the Bronze category (10 to 11 years) while Kvahn Tejwani clinched the lowest age category Copper division (nine years and below).

Importantly, this year’s NDB Private Wealth Junior Masters Golf Championships also saw a steady uptick in participants, with interest expressed by several overseas participants.

This is a clear indicator that the tournament’s longstanding mission to promote junior golf has made considerable headway.

Further, the NDB Private Wealth Junior Masters Golf Championship has grown increasingly popular in no small part because of the significant rewards on offer.

The four winners, as well as those earning first and second runner-up slots in each category, all earned NDB Wealth accounts of significant value for their winning performances, which will serve as an investment into their sporting future. Additionally, all competitors in the 2017 NDB Private Wealth Junior Masters Golf Championship also received NDB Wealth accounts as gifts for participating.
