Three-member team for World Archery Meet

Sri Lankan will field a three-member team for the World Archery Championships in Yankton, South Dakota, USA from October 21 to 26.

Twenty-nine-year old Sajeev de Silva from the Racecourse Archery Club is the only male archer in this team while the two women archers are 40-year-old Anuradha Karunaratne from Sri Lanka Police Archery Club and 37-year-old Harshani Kumarasinghe of Colombo Archery Club.

De Silva will compete in the Men's rcurve event. He is presently placed 140th in the World Rankings and he also won the 2019 South Asian Championship recurve event individual Bronze Medal and the mixed event Bronze Medal.

Karunaratne is presently placed 181st in the World Rankings and she won the Gold Medal with a new national record at the 2019 National Archery Championship.

Kumarasinghe has earlier represented the country at the 2010 and 2016 South Asian Championships.

Sunethra Seneviratne from the Sri Lanka Archery Club will participate as an international referee, becoming the first Sri Lankan referee to officiate at this meet.
