Janali to face Savini in Women’s Open final

Janali Manamperi and Savini Jayasuriya reached the Women’s Open final of the Hutch-HNB Clay Court Tennis Nationals by winning their respective semi-finals at the SLTA Courts in Green Path yesterday.

Manamperi defeated Oneli Perera 7-6, 6-1 after an exciting contest while Jayasuriya had the better of Sethmi Sumanaweera in straight sets 6-1, 7-6.

 

Results:

Men's Open Singles quarter-final: Akila Vimukthi beat Dumidu Dilum 6-3, 7-5. Luca Knese beat Jaithra De Saram 7-6, 6-3. Sanka Athukorala beat Savith Weerasinghe 6-7, 7-5, 10-8. Thehan Wijemanne beat Dilvan Hearth 6-4, 6-3.

Women's Open Singles semi-finals: Janali Manamperi beat Oneli Perera 7-6, 6-1. Savini Jayasuriya beat Sethmi Sumanaweera 6-1, 7-6. (C.D)
