Royal thrash Trinity in U-19 Cricket Tourney

Skipper Ahan Wickramasinghe made a superb 118 in 119 balls as Royal College notched-up an 83-run victory over Trinity in their Inter-Schools Under-19 Limited Over Cricket Tournament match played at Reid Avenue yesterday.

Royal made 234 all out in 49. 3 overs while the Trinitians managed to score only 156 runs in 45.2 overs.

Wickramasinghe completed his century with nine fours and two sixes while Sadisha Rajapaksa who made 46 in 71 balls was run out after adding 87 runs for the third wicket.

Kavindu Pathirathna was the most successful Royal bowler as he finished with three for 31 while Dan Poddiwela and Sonal Amarasekata took two wickets apiece.

Meanwhile, opener Chamath Wickramasinghe scored 74 with eight fours and right-arm medium paceman Hansamana de Silva finished with impressive figures of four for 12 in 6.1 overs as Richmond College beat S. Thomas’ College by four wickets in their fixture played at Mount Lavinia.
