
Opener Gayan Maneeshan hit a fine 56 as Kurunegala YCC created a major upset to beat the more fancied NCC by 63 runs in their SLC T20 Cricket Tournament quarter-final match played at the P. Sara Oval in Colombo yesterday.
Kurunegala YCC made 155 for five wickets in their 20 overs with Maneeshan leading the way while Sameera Sandamal made 46.
NCC chasing the target were bundled out for 92 runs in 14.5 overs with Naveen Samarawickerama causing most of the damage with three for 14.
Meanwhile, the defending champions CCC beat Ragama CC while SSC defeated Colts CC to enter the semi-finals while Army SC recorded a thrilling six-run victory over Negombo CC.
