Leg-spinner Manith Perera with impressive matchbag figures of 11 wickets helped S.Thomas’ College Mount Lavinia beat St. John’s College, Jaffna by an innings and 35 runs in their Under-19 Inter-Schools traditional cricket fixture worked off at Mount Lavinia yesterday.
The Thomians made 247 for seven in their first innings with Vinuja Wijebandara (71) and Shenesh Hettiarachchi (51 n.o) stroking two superb half centuries.
St. John’s in reply were bowled out for 61 in their first innings and following on they were dismissed for 145 in the second innings.
