Suresh Subramaniam wins Bostock Memorial Golf title

President of the National Olympic Committee of Sri Lanka (NOCSL), Suresh Subramaniam emerged as the overall winner at the Mark Bostock Memorial Golf Tournament worked off at the Victoria Golf and Country Resort (VGCR) in Rajawella, Digana yesterday.

Subramaniam was in tremendous form during this two-day event, which had attracted over 80 top competitors, both members and non-members of the VGCR.

Meanwhile, Chamara Abeyrathna emerged as the overall runner-up while the defending champion Haroon Aslam finished as the gross winner.

In addition, veteran golfer Niloo Jayathilake emerged as the Ladies’ gross winner while Melanie Bond ended-upas the runner-up.

In fact, Niloo finished the event with a grand double having also won the longest drive in the Ladies’ event.

Pauline Morleywas the nearest to the pinin the Ladies’ event while Chamara Abeyrathna was the nearest to the pin the Men’s event.

Lalith Rohitha had the longest drive in the Men’s event while Pauline Morley won the Ladies’ senior event and Dr. Amunugama won the Men’s senior event.

This wasthe first time in two years that a major tournament was conducted on this full 18-hole course and was worked off in memory of Mark Bostock, former Chairman of John Keells Holdings, the pioneer behind the Victoria Golf Course.
