Superb century by Avindu Madusanka

A hurricane chanceless unbeaten 100 runs by the captain of Weera Puran Appu Vidyalaya Moratuwa Avindu Madusanka guided his alma mater to defeat formidable S. Thomas Prep school Colpetty by ten wickets in their inter school under 17 division three tournament cricket match worked off at Malay Grounds Colombo. This is taking part in the under 17 tournament. Thus Avindu became the first cricketer from his school to notch up a century.

Avindu hit eleven sixes and five fours and faced 46 balls. Also he was associated in an unbroken opening stand of 157 runs with Sahan Edirisinghe who contributed an unbeaten 43 runs.

Batting first homesters scored 156 runs with Yonek Nethimanne scoring 34 runs and in reply Moratuwa lads passed the required score without loss. This partnership too will go for their school records.
