Sri Lanka Hockey Federation is set celebrate the Olympic Day with a walk named Olympic Day Hockey Walk tomorrow. This was arranged by the Federation on a request made by International Hockey Federation and Asian Hockey Federation.
The intention of this Walk is to get more involved in the game of Hockey among all irrespective of age categories. The event is to commence at 8.0a.m. from BMICH premises and will proceed to Astro turf where few exhibition games are scheduled to be played .
The SLHF has invited 13 hockey playing schools from all parts of the country to participate at this walk. These schools are represented by over 350 hockey players and they will accompanied by officials, teachers parents..
This is expected to boost the interest for the game of hockey in Sri Lanka said an official of the federation. The Organizers requests all interested hockey enthusiasts to join the walk to make it great success.
The participating schools are Royal College, Ananda College, Nalanda College, Hindu College, St. Paul’s Millagiriya, St. Aloysius College Galle, Richmond College Galle, Gateway College Kandy, Wdharmapala College Kandy, Southlands BVM, Visakha Vidyalaya, Maris Stella College Negombo, and Joseph Vz College Wennappuwa.
