A superb double by the captain Sathira Theekshana Lakshan and an unbeaten 118 runs and a match bag of 8 for 23 (4/10 and 4/13) and a hurricane 103 runs by Kaveesha Anjana Gimret and a fine match bag of 10 for 33 (5/16 and 5/17) by Kalana Sathsara helped Palannoruwa Maha Vidyalaya, Gonapola, Horana to beat C. W. W. Kannangara Maha Vidyalaya, Matugama by an innings and 117 runs in their inter school under 13 division three tournament cricket match played at Palannoruwa, Gonapala. Sachira hit 14 fours and 5 sixes and occupied the crease for 135 minutes and faced 100 balls while Kaveesha had 15 hits to the ropes and 5 over and occupied the crease for 68 minutes and faced 49 balls. Also the pair put on 151 runs partnership for the second wicket.
Batting first Palannoruwa Vidyalaya declared at 260 for 6 and visitors were all out for 61 runs and following on they were dismissed for 82 runs with Chamod Rathnayake scoring 33 runs.
