Ragama Hospital Inter Dept. cricket on Mrach 17

An Inter Department Cricket Tournament organized by the ‘Friendly Nurse Association’ of Colombo North Teaching Hospital, Ragama will be worked off for the sixth consecutive year on March 17 at the Ragama Boys’ Town, Esplanade.

The Colombo North Teaching Hospital Director Dr. Shelton Perera will be the chief guest. The Deputy Directors of the Hospital, Dr. Sarath Premasiri and Dr. Vajira Dasanayake will be the guests of honour along with Kumudu Kumari, the chief Special Grade Nursing officer. The tournament will commence at 8.00 am.

K. Clarance Perera, a member of the male nursing staff, the coordinator cum organizer of the tournament said that the Friendly Nurse Association is conducting the tournament with the support of doctors, consultants, nursing staff and other staffers of each and every department of the hospital.

The tournament has become one of the most anticipated sporting events since its inauguration in 2012 and has been in great service to create good relationship, rapport and better understanding among all involved, creating a friendly and efficient working environment to provide ‘a good health service’ to the patients in wards and to the public.

Eight teams from respective departments of the hospital have been lined up for this year’s tournament representing Doctors, Medical Laboratory Technicians ( MLTs ), Exray and ECG staffers along with Nursing and Minor Staff.
