Dilanka Shehan retains men’s title, school girl Kaushalya women’s queen

South Asian gold medalist Dilanka Shehan of Nalanda College retained the Men’s Open title and Kaushalya Woshani of Gintota MV, Galle emerged the Women’s Open champion at the 81st Annual Two-Mile Sea Swim conducted by the Sri Lanka Aquatic Sports Union (SLASU) and the Mount Lavinia Hotel with the main sponsorship of Mobitel off Mount Lavinia seas last weekend.

The event saw over 1,700 participation, competing in six main categories. Dilanka improved his last year’s winning performance with a timing of 39.5 minutes. He took 43.22 minutes to win the last year’s contest. Ashanthi de Silva of Rainbow Aquatic Club and C.J. Nanayakkara of Starfish Aquatic Academy won the Masters’ and Veteran women’s titles respectively.
