Lakpriya Edirisinghe, a BWF-accredited umpire, will officiate at the ElPozo BWF World Senior Championships 2021 which will be held in Huelva, Spain from November 28 to December 4.
Edirisinghe, a vastly experienced Badminton Asia Confederation-accredited umpire, has officiated in more than 100 international tournaments, including Commonwealth Games, Youth Olympic Games and in three World Badminton Championships as an umpire as well as a technical official prior to the event in Spain.
Earlier this year, Edirisinghe also played a role as a chief umpire during the Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games.
He is a product of Asoka MV, Colombo. A total of 49 nations, including Sri Lanka, will take part in the biennial tournament in Spain which will be held for the 10th time. The ElPozo BWF World Senior Championships 2021 will see More than 20 Sri Lanka shuttlers in action.
