Anuradha Herath played school rugby as a third row forward for his alma mater St.Peter’s College, Bambalapitiya in the inter schools rugby championship while representing his college football team and the athletic team. Then he went on to represent the Sri Lanka national under 19 fifteen a side rugby team in the Junior Rugby Asiad and Sri Lanka seven a side national team. He also had the honour of representing Sri Lanka senior national seven a side as well as the fifteen a side rugby team.
He represented CR & FC with distinction and is presently turning out for CH and FC in the inter club rugby tournament as an exceptional speedy wing three quarter.
Speaking to Daily News Anuradha said “My journey into the world of sports started because of my passion towards Sports.I have always been a lover of sports and trying out all of them
“There are many people who have supported me to be the person who I am today, And i am grateful for them especially my parents, my wife , my football coach of St.Joseph’s College Anuradhapura Nandasiri and athletic coach Preethi,my Master in charge of football at St.Peter’s College Milroy and my Rugby coach Sanath Martis and Collin Denish, St. Peters College and Reza Aniff at Dialog Axiata PLC. CR and FC and CH and FC and the rugby captain Rohitha Rajapaksa and all my coaches.
“I chose this sport of rugby because i had a passion towards rugby and always loved rugby by my heart , and seeing St. Peters college rugby team wearing the Peterite rugby jersey ,made me always wants to play rugby”.
“Throughout my entire life my priorities are my family and Rugby.
“One of the most unforgettable incidents was the first call that I got from SLRFU to play for the National Rugby Team.Hence that incident will always be in my memory right throughout my life as one of the most unforgettable incidents to date”.

My favourite rugby player is Sonny Bill Williams, the New Zealand All Blacks national team centre ”.
