Sri Lanka Youth paddlers return home

Sri Lankan Youth Table Tennis team led by Senura Silva returned home after taking part at the World Youth TT Championships in Muscat,Oman and their performance proved highly successful .

The 16 year old Senura Silva of Ananda College stole the limelight at this tour and was able to reach both men’s under 17 and under 19 semi finals.

Vinuka Gunawardena of Royal also entered the boys under 17 quarter final while Dewmeth Weerasena of Lyceum International Nugegoda and Janith Batugedera of Royal also were able to reach boys under 13 quarter finals .In fact Batugedera the promising paddler who made his debut International tour performed well to reach the quarter final with good fighting skills.

The junior paddlers were able to get good exposure during this tournament and it was very important especially as they couldn’t play matches during last few months due to Covid 19 pandemic.
