Good news for cricket lovers of the central hills, the Kandy District Cricket Association Domestic qualifying limited over tournament for new clubs will commence from Wednesday 27th October, which will be conducted for the second successivel year. In this tournament sixteen teams in two groups “A and B” will take part.
The host KDCA is taking a keen interest to make this tournament a memorable one. So Cricket will make a glorious comeback to Kandy at club level with this cricket championship. This championship will see teams go head-to-head to establish themselves as the champions of the tournament. The winning team would also end up with sizeable prize money and the KDCA trophy;Same will be for the runner-up too.
The special awards will be Best Batsman,Bowler, and Fielder and also the Best Team of the tournament and the Man of the Tournament.
Cricket fans all around Kandy will be able to watch some of their city’s stalwarts battling against each other. Due to the ground problem in Kandy all the matches will be played at the Wickramabahu Central College grounds in Gampola. Kandy’s qualified umpires will handle the matches.

November 5 Honest Star SC vs Lion Heart CC,11 Kingswood CC vs New Wave CC, 16 Tuskers CC vs Sport Plus SC, 22 Titans SC vs Thunder SC, 25 Lion Heart CC vs Kingswood CC, 27 Honest Star SC vs New Wave CC, 30 Kingswood CC vs Titans SC, Sports Plus SC vsThunder CC.
Group “B” - October 29 Central Youth CC vs Old Ranabima CC. November 3 Old Jinaraja CC vs Siyanco SC, 9 Up-Country SC vs Akurana SC, 15 Hewaheta Ekamuthu CC vs Assex CC, 18 Central Youth CC vs Siyanco SC, 23Old Jinaraja CC vs Old Ranabima CC, 26 Hewaheta Ekamuthu CC vs Karunara CC, 29 Up-Country SM SC vs OId Jinaraja CC, dates to be fixed for the matches between Central Youth CC vs Asex CC and Siyanco SC vs Old Ranabima CC.
