Former SL U-19 Captain Upekha Fernando dies

Former S. Thomas’ College, Sri Lanka Under-19 Captain and SSC cricketer Upekha Fernando (41) passed away in Kandy yesterday.

He was a regular member of the SSC Cricket Team and was very effective in Sri Lanka's domestic one-day tournaments.

He bowled flat off-cutters and as a batsman he opened the innings and did so in an aggressive manner.

The funeral of the late Upekha Fernando will be held in Kandy today.
