Dilkith shines for Piliyandala Central

First year coloursman, right hand top order batsman and right arm off spinner and a safe fielder Hesara Dilkith Kodituwakku has brought honour and fame to his school Piliyandala Central College. He was born on 14th September 2001 and was admitted to Piliyandala Primary School in 2007 and he was there until 2011and did not take part in any sports activities. When he was drafted to the Piliyandala Central College his Principal was S. J. P. Wijesinghe and the class teacher was Mrs. Mallika.

As he showed an interest in cricket his parents Udaya Bharathi Kodituwakku and Sajeewani Iromi admitted their son to the School Cricket Academy in 2013 and he came under Mr. Sumeda and Mr. Chamindu. In 2013 he attended under 13 cricket practices and got selected to the under 13 Division Three Team under Nipuna Liyanage and in the following year captaining the Division Three Team he passed the 450 run mark with five half centuries.

His first year in the under 15 was 2017 and he could not come up to expectations and in his second year in the same division their team reached up to quarter finals and he contributed more than 400 runs with five fifties and got selected to play for the Prima Cup.

Then in 2017 former Cambrian Cricketer Eranga Gunaratne took over the under 17 lads and Dilkith passed the 300 run mark and he was selected to the 2017/18 First Eleven Cricket Pool and in 2018 leading the second eleven team he passed the 450 run mark with a century and three fifties and with these performances under his belt he played for the first eleven team and in twelve outings he got more than 300 runs with a fifty and played for the Big Match and the Limited Over Match with their arch rivals Taxila Central Horana and he won Cricket Colours. His Master in Charge was Aruna Liyanage and the Prefect of Games was Ashley Karunaratne and finally in 2021 due to Covid 19 there was no traditional matches and playing in the recently concluded Division Two Inter School Limited Over Cricket Tournament conducted by Sri Lanka Schools Cricket Association he scored 150 runs with a fifty and Centralians reached the quarter finals. In this context his Principal Darshana Udawatte is supportive of him at all times.
