Unbeaten St. Peter’s College will meet Dharmasoka College in their Under-19 Division One Tier ‘B’ Cricket Tournament quarter-final fixture at the Galle Stadium today.
The Peterites have a strong batting line-up with Skipper Nipunaka Fonseka, Shanuka Galagoda, Shenal Boteju and Lahiru Chethaka all in tremendous form.
Paceman Vinuda Liyanage and leg-spinner Wanuja Kumara are the key bowlers with Danal Hemananada and Jesuran Benjamin also among the wickets.
Meanwhile all-rounder Lohan de Soyza is the key player for Dharmasoka with Kaveen Samarahewa, Imanthaka Rajapaksa and Sanula Gunaratne forming a strong batting line-up.
In fact, Skipper de Soyza is in good form having claimed a matchbag of 11 wickets in their drawn two-day game against St. Benedict’s College last week.
Ananda College and St. Anthony’s College, Wattala will clash in another quarter-final game of the Division One Tier ‘B’ Tournament at St. Sebastian’s Grounds in Moratuwa today.
The Anandians led by Saviru Bandara lost to Isipathana and St. Joseph Vaz but won against Zahira, Maris Stella and Dharmapala to enter the quarters-finals.
The Antonians will be led by all-rounder Avishka Tharindu and will have the services of some experienced players including Gihan Sathmika, Dilip Fernando and Kaveesh Dulanjana.
