The inaugural Super League Football Tournament will commence at the Sugathadasa Stadium in Colombo with two matches down for decision today (April.19).
Colombo FC will take on New Young FC in the curtain raiser match at 4.30 p.m. while Blue Star SC will meet Red Star SC in the second match at 7.30 p.m.
Colombo FC are likely to have the services of few overseas players along with a combination of youth and experienced local players.
One of their key players to monitor will be M. Aakib who is a pretty dangerous player both in attack and defence.
New Young FC will also have the services of few foreign players and altogether, a close encounter is expected.
Meanwhile, the match between Blue Star SC and Red Star SC will be another cliff-hanger. Both teams experienced mixed fortunes during the pre-season league and will be determined to put up a solid performance to commence the tournament on a winning note.
