Saajida clinches U-18 Tennis Title

Saajida Razick produced a fine performance to clinch the Girls’ Under-18 Singles title at the HNB-Hutch Clay Court Tennis Nationals, which continued at the SLTA Courts in Green Path yesterday.

The schoolgirl from Bishop’s College, Colombo rallied around well and defeated Hasali Gajaba in straight sets 7-5, 6-4 in the final encounter.

Boys’ Under-14 Singles final: Lisal Goonathilake beat Methwan Wijemanne 6-1, 6-4.

Girls’ Under-14 Doubles final: Inuki Jayaweera and Melesha Randini beat Akeesha Silva and Movindi Fernando 5-3, 4-2.

Girls’ Under-18 Singles final: Saajida Razick beat Hasali Gajaba 7-5, 6-4. (C.D)
