Ragama set up SLC L/O final clash against NCC

Ragama CC brought an end to Army CC’s giant killing performances when they recorded an emphatic eight-wicket victory in the SLC Major Club Limited Over Cricket Tournament semi-final worked off at the NCC Grounds in Maitland Place yesterday.

Army CC, taking first lease of the wicket were dismissed for 178 with Ragama CC Skipper Ishan Jayaratne returning splendid figures of five wickets for 31.

In reply, Ragama CC reached their target in 39.2 overs thanks to a superb 99 from opener Saminda Fernando who struck six boundaries and one six.

Meanwhile, NCC pulled off an exciting 18-run victory over Badureliya SC in the other semi-final encounter played at the CCC Grounds in Maitland Crescent.

NCC rallied around through a fine century from Upul Tharanga to pile up a formidable 292 for seven in their 50 overs and then dismissed their opponents for 274 in the last over of the innings.

Ragama CC: 179/2 in 39.2 overs (Saminda Fernando 99, Nishan Madushka 34, Dineth Thimodya 33 n.o).
