Janali and Savini bag Women’s Doubles title

Janali Manamperi and Savini Jayasuriya clinched the Women’s Doubles title at the Hutch-HNB Clay Court Tennis Nationals, which continued at the SLTA Courts in Green Path yesterday.

The favourites rallied around through their experience and went on to beat the combination of Zeenath Zihar and Saajida Razick 6-2, 7-5 following a keenly contested final encounter.

The results:

Women’s Doubles final: Janali Manamperi and Savini Jayasurita beat Zeenath Zihar and Saajida Razick 6-2, 7-5.

Girls’ Under-12 Singles final: Movindi Fernando beat Githmi Fernando 6-2, 7-5.

Girls’ Under-14 Singles semi-finals: Ruwi Lewkebandara beat Arushi Thomas 6-4, 1-6, 10-8. (C.D)
