Silver Jubilee celebrations of World Cup win

Sri Lanka will mark their Silver Jubilee celebrations of winning the 1996 World Cup triumph with a series of events in Colombo today.

The State will felicitate the World Cup heroes at an official function to be held at Temple Trees at 10.00 a.m with Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa in attendance. Meanwhile, in evening there will be a dinner organised by the members of the World Cup winning team at Colombo’s Shangri-La.

Most of the members of the victorious team with their families and dignitaries will take part in this event. (D.R)
