Royal College took major honours in their Inter-Schools Under-19 cricket fixture against Trinity College, which ended in a draw at Reid Avenue yesterday.
Royal declared their first innings at the overnight score of 403 for two and the Trinitians were bowled out for 133 in reply.
The visitors, trailing by 270 runs on the first innings, were asked to follow on and they ended the day scoring 115 for six wickets at close.
Royal leg-spinner Gishan Balasooriya was the chief wreaker as he ended with fine figures of five for 41 from his 21 overs, while paceman Kavinduu Pathiratne provided good support with two for 18.
Trinity opener Thewin Amarasinghe was the only batsman to offer some resistance to the Royal bowlers with a fighting knock of 44 runs.
Trinity, in their second innings, once again failed to get a good start with the openers Thewin Amarasinghe and Umier Raizan back in the pavilion with just two runs on the board inside the first two overs.
However, Skipper Abhishek Anandakumar (13) and Pawan Pathiraja (76) helped Trinity to force a draw while adding 74 runs for the third wicket.
Leg-spinner Balasooriya once again was among the wickets and finished with three for 44 to end with a match-bag of eight wickets.
Left-hander Pathiraja struck 11 fours and collected his runs from 106 balls. Chief scores:
