Low-scoring game at Lake View

Dharmaraja College took a close first innings lead over Nalanda College on the opening day of their Inter-Schools Under-19 traditional cricket encounter played for the Bandula Warnapura Trophy at the Lake View Grounds in Kandy yesterday. The Nalandians, who were put in to bat were bowled out for 122 runs in their first innings but fought back well to reduce their opponents to 138 for seven in reply.

Nalanda: 122 (Vinuja Ranpul 48, Rashan Dissanayaka 39, Upendra Warnakulasooriya 5/25, Sahan Siriwardena 3/36)

Dharmaraja: 138/7 (Pulidu Perera 32, Malitha Hapuarachchi 30, Dimalsha Siriwardane 21 n.o, Lisula Sigera 2/18, Sajitha Vithanage 2/31).
