Nishantha Ranatunga, who is contesting for the post of General Secretary at the upcoming Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) Elections, said that there were many irregularities during the nomination process.
He made these observations during a special media conference held at the Colts Cricket Club pavilion in Colombo yesterday.
“Right now our National team’s performances are at low ebb and with the recent defeats at the hands of West Indies they have slipped down to the 10th position in the T20I and ODI formats while we are pushed back to the sixth position in Test Cricket Rankings.”
Bandula Warnapura who is contesting for the post of Vice-President said: “I never had any intention of contesting until lots of people told me why should you use your experience and serve for the betterment of the game rather than presenting your ideas on the television.”
Meanwhile, Presidential candidate Mathivanan, briefed the media on the shortcomings of SLC’s present regime, while accusing them of power hunger and about their other intentions.
