Twelve year old up and coming volleyball player and captain of the under eleven School volleyball team in 2019. Hiruni Navodya Jayalath has brought honour and fame to her school Dhammissara National School Nattandiya.
Hiruni was admitted to the Primary Section of this school in the year 2015 and her. first class teacher was Mrs. Chandrakanthi and when she was in the Primary Section she took part in the Inter House Athletic Meets and won Awards and the then Master in Charge of Sports was Mr. Chinthaka.

Though she took part in athletics her forte is volleyball and she took an interest to this game and her parents Samith Jayalath and Sajeewani Rodrigo noticing her talents handed over their daughter to Mrs. Sajeewani for volleyball practices in 2017 and her coach was Harsha Geeshan. She commenced volleyball practices under Geeshan and in 2019 at the Inter House under 11 Volleyball Tournament she was adjudged under 11 Girls Best Player. With these performances under her belt she was selected to the school under 11 volleyball team and in 2019 at the All Island DSI Tournament under her captaincy their school were the All Island Runners Up and she was awarded school colours for Volleyball At present she is preparing for the forthcoming tournaments under Mrs. Sajeewani. Her Principal Anil Pushpakumara, Deputy Principal Mrs. Nilmini Rodrigo and Prefect of Games Keerthi Jayasekera are always supportive of her to come up the ladder.
