Hasal and Vishmi clinch U-18 tennis titles

Hasal Ahangama and Vishmi Serasinghe clinched the Boys’ and Girls’ Under-18 Singles title respectively at the SSC Open Tennis Tournament, which continued at the SSC Courts in Maitland Place yesterday.

Ahangama of Ananda College defeated Ransath Peiris 6-0, 6-2 in the Boys’ Under-18 final while Serasinghe from Ave Maria Convent, Negombo had the better of Anithra Dharmarathne 6-3, 6-1 in the Boys’ Under-18 final.

The results:

Girls’ Under-18 Singles final: Vishmi Serasinghe beat Anithra Dharmarathne 6-3, 6-1.

Boys’ Under-18 Singles final: Hasal Ahangama beat Ransath Peiris 6-0, 6-2.

Boys’ Under-18 Doubles semi-finals: Thehan Wijemanne and Methvan Wijemanne beat Hesara Kuruppu and Thushan Senanayake 4-1, 5-3 (3).
