Runners-Up Kalutara District Team
The Gampaha District women’s football team recorded a massive victory over Kalutara District women’s football team by five goals to nil and emerged overall champions in their 46th Western Province Inter District Football Championship which was held on March 20 Saturday at the Vernon U Fernando sports complex Kalutara.
The competition was successfully organized by the Western Province Sports Ministry under the guidance of the Kalutara District sports officer S.R.Z. Mowlana with the help of the Kalutara District, Dodangoda divisonal secretariat sports officer G. Imesh Gnanaratne and Gampaha
District, Mahara divisonal secretariat sports officer W.A.S. Dhirukshi Three district champions competed in this tournament from the Colombo, Gampaha and Kalutara Districts and the occasion was graced by the western province education and sports ministry secretary Srisoma Lokuvithana who was the Chief Guest and awarded certificates to the competitors. The overwhelming 10 nil victory of the Kalutara District women’s football team over the Colombo District women’s football team in the semi final was praiseworthy.
