Special workshops to form Wushu national pool

A special programme will be conducted to form national Wushu pool with the expectation of obtaining more medals at the 19th Asian Games in Hanjo City, China in September, 2022.

The President of Wushu Federation of Sri Lanka (WFSL) Manel Dharmakeerthi said, I am expecting to form a new Wushu pool with young talented players who are potential of winning more medals at international level, especially in upcoming 19th Asian Games.

There will be two special workshops to find out talented players who have participated in any sport between the ages of 18-25 years. The first workshop will be held on October 10 and 11 at Digana Indoor Stadium, Kandy and the other will be conducted at Kotawila Indoor Stadium, Matara on October 30 and November 01.

“The selected players for the National Pool will be given special training under Chinese coaches in Sri Lanka and China,” he further said.

Those who are interested in participating in these workshops should contact National Wushu Coach Ruchira Bodhinagoda or Kapila Sabhapathige on 0710432592. The interested applicants can directly participate when they are present at the workshop venues on respective dates.
