Under 13 player, right hand batsman, right arm leg spinner and all rounder Angage Sahan Deshaka Perera shone for Wadduwa Central College in the all island under 13 cricket tournament in 2019.
Sahan commenced his school career at Molligoda Junior School and as he was keen on playing cricket his parents admitted him to the D. R. Cricket Academy, Wadduwa under Danushka Perera.
After the Grade Five Scholarship Examination he was admitted to Wadduwa Central College and in 2018 he attended practices in the under 13 age group. In his first year itself he scored 426 runs which included three half centuries and claimed 27 scalps and in the following year he scored 558 runs with five fifties with a highest score of 67 runs versus Lyceum International School, Panadura and bagged 47 wickets with one ten wicket haul against Karandeniya Central (10 for 25) and one five wicket haul.
In addition in the Inter Academy under 12 tournament for Amal Rodrigo Trophy in 2017. He scored 50 runs and in the next year he collected 113 runs and in his first year in the under 13 age group he was unbeaten on 118 runs and in 2019 he scored 152 runs in 65 balls and carried away the Best Batsman’s Award.
