Praba Udawatte, former Sri Lanka all-rounder in the National Cricket Team was very unfortunate when she broke her ankle when she was fielding at University Grounds,Peradeniya in a tournament match against Colts Cricket Club in the year 2006.
She got treatment for her ankle and at the same time she did a lot of Physical training and became fit and her leg became normal again. After this she was selected for the final squad of 18 players for the World Cup held in Australia but at the last moment she was left out of the World Cup tour squad under Sashikala Siriwardena in the year 2009.
Praba Udawatte started her cricket career from Malwatte Cricket Club under the coaching of Samantha Dikkumbura and joined the Kandy Ladies team under the guidance of Bernard Perera, Harold Ranasinghe and Chaminda Perera.
Later she joined Marians Cricket Club and she won the Sri Lanka Cap in the year 2004 and she was selected for the World Cup held in Pretoria, South Africa. Her last series was representing Sri Lanka at the Asia Cup held in India.
Praba’s batting performance is: played 13 ODIs scored 104 runs with a highest score of 30, and held four catches. The Bowling performance is: played 13 ODIs claiming 10 wickets from 510 balls giving away 272 runs.
She was a Level one Cricket Coach since 2010 and she will commence her coaching once the Covid – 19 epidemic is over and she is willing to Coach any School as soon as the country becomes normal.
