Bangladesh ready to tour Sri Lanka if 7-day quarantine is maintained

The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) yesterday insisted that they are prepared to go ahead with its scheduled three-match Test tour of Sri Lanka as per schedule provided Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) stick to the seven-day mandatory quarantine regulations for the visiting team.

SLC and BCB are communicating on a regular basis in connection to the upcoming three-Test series. In addition, SLC are currently negotiating with the Health Ministry officials about the quarantine period.

However, earlier, SLC had informed the BCB that the players have to be in quarantine for the first seven days after arrival, after which the players could go ahead with the training schedule.

The BCB are now awaiting on a feedback from SLC if they are to proceed with the proposed tour according to the plans.

The series between Sri Lanka and Bangladesh was earlier, shifted from July-August to September due to the Coronavirus pandemic.

According to the current schedule, Bangladesh are likely to reach Sri Lanka on September 27 for the three-Test series beginning on October 24.

The Test series will see the resumption of cricket in both the countries since the Coronavirus outbreak had shut down all activities in March.
