Vidyartha old boys keen to get rugby going

The 52nd rugby encounter between Vidyartha College and Ananda College for the William Gopallawa Shield, may kick off when things come to normal, according most of the Old boys of Vidyartha College who are keen to get the rugby going.

These two schools first met in 1962 in rugby and the shield was presented by William Gopallawa in 1967. Out of the 51 games played so far Vidyartha College has won 28 games, Ananda College 21 and 2 drawn. Earlier it was a two leg game but today it is played as a one leg encounter. If the game comes through a rousing contest is on the cards as both teams are blessed with some classy players.
