Pawan Sandesh of Devapathiraja College, Ratgama, made the first century of the Singer Trophy Under 17 Division One Inter-School Cricket tournament on Tuesday.
Right-hander Pawan Sandesh scored an unbeaten 152 runs in 120 balls with six boundaries and 10 sixes against Rahula College, Matara, in a first-round fixture. Devapathiraja College beat Rahula College by 254 runs at Rathgama and Trinity College, Kandy, beat their rivals St. Anthony’s College, Katugastota, by 63 runs in Kandy.
Ranudha Somarathna of Trinity College made unbeaten 102 against St. Anthony’s Katugastota. Anushka Shehan right arm paceman of Devapathiraja took 5 wickets for 18 runs.
