FIBA includes Sri Lanka for its long term development program

Sri Lanka Basketball Federation said that Sri Lanka has been included in the National Federations Long Term Development Program of FIBA International from 2019-2023. Out of 213 national federations only 13 are selected for this program from all over the world and Sri Lanka is the only country from Asia.

The good news was conveyed to the local basketball body by Florian Pasquet - National Federations & Sports Manager, FIBA International and Ms. Andrea Paoli - National Federations & Sports Manager, FIBA Asia who travelled to Sri Lanka on a short visit.

During their visit they met the following officials Chulananda Perera - Secretary, Ministry of Telecommunication, Digital Infrastructure, Foreign Employment & Sports, Suresh Subramanium - President, NOC, Sri Lanka, Maxwell de Silva -Secretary General, NOC, Sri Lanka and SLBF officials Dr. Chula Senaratne - Secretary General, Wing Cmdr (Rtd) Chandana Liyanage - Vice President, Paul Newman -Vice President, Hashendra Fernando - Vice President, Dr. (Mrs) Samantha Nanayakkara -Vice President, SSP T. Ganeshanathan - Asst. Treasurer and Ajith Kuruppu - Senior National Coach/President -Sri Lanka Coaches Association. - KR
