Aslam, Nipuni Midyear Novices carrom winners

ACM Aslam of SL Army won the Boys’ Singles championship beating Avon Wickramasinghe of SL Air Force by 2/0 (25/12, 25/04), while Nipuni Dilrukshi of Mahamaya Balika Vidyalaya, Nugegoda clinched the Gils’ Singles beating Vindy Dilanya of Samudradevi Balika Vidyalaya, Nugegoda by 2/1 (18/25,25/03, 25/20) in the finals of the Midyear Novices Carrom Championship 2018.

The tournament was conducted from July 07 to 29 at the Carrom Federation (CFSL) headquarters, Kohuwala and consisted of four events namely, Boy’s Singles, Girl’s Singles, Boy’s Doubles and Girl’s Doubles. Over 350 slicers from island-wide participated in events.

KVSL Liyanage of University of Moratuwa (25/14) and Hirushi Malshani of Mahamaya Baliika Vidyalaya, Nugegoda (25/23) secured third places of Boys’ and Girls’ Singles respectively.
