Twenty wickets fall at Reid Avenue

Twenty wickets fell at Reid Avenue when Royal hosted Pilyandala Central College for their under 19 division two group ‘A’ fixture yesterday.

Royal invited to bat first were restricted to 138 runs by spinners Sandun Sathsara 6/30 and Heshan Madusanka 3/53. Only openers Bhagya Dissanayaka and Gayan Dissanayaka were able to pass the twenty-run mark.

Themal Bandara captured four wickets while Dimal Wijesekera and Kamil Mishara captured two wickets each to restrict Piliyandala Central to a first innings score of 84.

Chamod Sandaru was unbeaten on 29. Royal were 15 for no loss at stumps.

Royal 138 in 48.3 overs: (Bhagya Dissanayaka 28, Gayan Dissanayaka 24, Sharala Gunsthilaka 17 not out, Heshan Madushanka 3/53, Sandun Sathsara 6/30) and 15/0 in 4 overs

Piliyandala Central 84 in 37.5 overs: Chamod Sandaru 29 not out, Dimal Wijesekera 2/16, Kamil Mishra 2/07, Themal Bandara 4/25
