Singer Cup U17 Division 1 Schools Cricket: Royal qualifies for quarterfinals

Royal College Colombo advanced to the quarterfinals of the ‘Singer Trophy’ Under 17 division 1 inter schools cricket tournament yesterday.

Royal beat Sri Sumangala College Panadura by 215 runs in the pre-quarterfinal played at Reid Avenue.

Ahan Wickramasinghe scored 105 runs in 110 balls with 15 fours and Kavindu Madarasinghe scored an unbeaten 104 off 86 balls with 15 fours and 3 sixes.

Royal will meet last year’s runner-up Thurstan College in the quarter final.

Sri Sumangala: 112 in 30.5 overs (Tharana Ghandara 35, Pasindu Sahandith 22, Bisandu Ranasinghe 3/23, Harindu Palihawadana 2/10, Manula Perera 2/13, Pulindu Mallikarachchi 2/27) - YK
