Sri Lanka are determined to give their best when they take on the regional giants India in their penultimate fixture of the 13th South Asian Football Federation Tournament at the National Stadium in Male today. Kick-off is at 4.30 p.m. (Sri Lanka time).
The Lankans of course, have already made their exit from qualifying for the final and are still searching for their maiden victory in the tournament.
“We have a few issues with some players who are down with fatigue. The support staff is working extremely hard to get them fit for the game against India,” Sri Lanka Skipper Sujan Perera revealed yesterday.
“We will not change our strategy of playing attacking football. As a team the boys are fully focussed and determined to give their best.”
“We have nothing to lose now and irrespective of our opponents my boys are pumped up for the big task,” Perera added.
Sri Lanka will miss the services of defender Chamod Dilshan who faces a one-match suspension due to two successive yellow cards.
However, Duckson Puslas, who was sidelined owing to a red card in the curtain raiser against Bangladesh, will make a comeback to strengthen the backline.
