Oman face PNG in T20 opener

Oman are set to play their opening match of the ICC Twenty20 Cricket World Cup against Papua New Guinea (PNG) at the Al Amerat Stadium in Muscat.

Oman has never been able to dominate in the T20s like they have dominated in the ODI arena.

Perhaps now is the time for them to improve on that. Their team may not have many big names but the team is full of talent. It will be exciting to see how the unit plays.

Captain of PNG Assad Vala said that he will be captaining a well-disciplined and well-drilled team into the ICC T20 World Cup. He also specified that the side counts on playing their respective roles and completing their skills to the best of their skills.

Vala further said playing in the T20 World Cup 2021 was a dream come true moment for all of the members of the team and understood the significance of playing in the mega event for the first time. (Agencies)
