Namibia eliminate Netherlands from T20 WC

David Wiese scored an unbeaten half-century as Namibia defeated Netherlands by six wickets in their ICC T20 Cricket World Cup Qualifying match played at Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates yesterday.

The middle order batsman remained unbeaten on 66 from 40 balls as Namibia successfully chased down their opponents’ total of 164 with one over to spare.

Wiese hoisted five sixes and struck four boundaries and added 93 for the fourth wicket along with Gerhard Erasmus.

Earlier, opener Max O’dowd hit a 56-ball 70 with one six and six boundaries to help Netherlands reach a competitive 164 for four after being put into bat.
