Domestic cricket to commence on Oct. 20

The domestic season is set to start on October 20

Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) is set to commence the domestic season of 2021/2022 from October 20.

According to a senior official of SLC, they have instructed clubs to start their preparations, adhering to the health guidelines issued by the government, from October 2 to play the Major League Limited Overs Tournament from October 20.

With the expectation of the current quarantine curfew rules to be relaxed on October 1, SLC have set October 20 as the proposed starting date of the Major League Limited Overs Tournament.

If the current quarantine curfew rules would be relaxed on October 1, all clubs will get 20 days to prepare for the tournament.

SLC postponed the start of the tournament, which was previously scheduled to begin on September 7.
