
Sri Lanka Cricket will host the Bangladesh U19 team for a limited-over series from October 15 to 25. The Bangladesh U19s will arrive on October 7 and will play five ODIs with Sri Lanka U19s during the tour, which will be played under a Bio Bubble Environment. The first ODI will be played on October 15 followed by four ODI’s on 18, 20, 23, and 25.
“The upcoming series will allow the Under 19 team to play international cricket after a while, and help us to work on finding the right combination to play in the Under 19 World Cup in 2022,’’ said Avishka Gunawardene, the newly appointed Under 19 Coach of Sri Lanka.
In the meantime, Sri Lanka U19 squad is currently undergoing a residential U19 training programme in Colombo focusing on future tours. Avishka Gunawardene (Head Coach), Upul Chandana (Fielding Coach), Sachith Pathirana (Spin Bowling Coach), Chamila Gamage (Fast Bowling Coach), and Dhammika Sudarshana (Batting Coach) are currently working with the Under 19 squad focusing on the Under 19 World Cup to be held in 2022.
Apart from the above, Priyantha Wickremesinghe (Physiotherapist) and Buddhika Herath (Trainer) are also working with the squad.
