Two outstanding players from Ragama CC Janith Liyanage and Binura Fernando emerged as the highest run-getter and highest wicket-taker respectively in SLC Major Club Limited Over Cricket Tournament, which concluded recently. Ragama CC emerged runners-up in this tournament after going down to NCC in the final encounter.
Liyanage, the 25-year-old former St. Peter’s College right-hander scored a century and three fifties to amass 461 with an average of 115.25 and was also named Best Player of the Tournament.
Meanwhile, Binura Fernando the 25-year-old left-arm paceman took 23 wickets from eight matches and came on top with best figures of six for 28.
