Leg-spinner Aroshana de Soyza had impressive figures of eight for 36 as Dharmasoka College, Ambalangoda recorded an easy 10-wicket win over St. Benedict’s College in their Inter-Schools Under-19 traditional cricket fixture, which concluded at Kotahena yesterday.
Aroshana who captured three wickets for three runs in first innings, finished with a matchbag of 11 for 39.
The Benedictians who were bowled out for 62 runs in the first innings, once again struggled in their second innings and were shot out for 88 runs.
Hasindu Kaviratne top scored with 35 runs to help St. Benedict’s avoid an innings defeat but the Dharmasoka openers Sanula Sameen (13) and Kavin Samarahewa (21) reached their target in eight overs to complete victory before lunch. (D.R)
