Army eye L/O quarter-final spot against CCC

CCC and Army SC will clash in a vital fixture of the SLC Major Club Limited Overs Cricket Tournament at the CCC Grounds in Maitland Crescent today.

Both teams are vying for a quarter-final place from Group ‘A’ along with the table leaders Badureliya SC who are currently on top of the group with 20 points.

Army SC are in second place with 19 points while the CCC are in third place with a total of 15 points. Only the top two teams will qualify for the quarter-finals. Another quarter-final spot in Group ‘D’ is still open with Moors SC and Colts CC battling for a place. SSC have already secured their place in the quarter-finals from this group. Meanwhile, Chairth Asalanka of SSC is the highest run-getter so far in the tournament with an aggregate of 348 runs from six matches.
